Using only 1U of EIA rack space (1.75" high), new Sylphit-IP rack-mount integrated LCD console/switch is designed to answer today's needs of local KVM management at the rack along with remote access over IP
February 2, 2010
Rackit Technology Corporation today introduced new Sylphit-IP, an IP-enabled, multi-platform (USB-PS/2) rack-mount flat-panel KVM console/switch.
Combining excellent server rack management with real-world remote-access needs, Sylphit-IP features a built-in IP Module, providing a remote administrator anytime, anywhere access to all servers over IP (Internet, WAN, LAN) from a standard Web browser.
Available in 8- and 16-port density, 1U Sylphit-IP KVM console/switches utilize 6- 10- and 15-feet (coax) KVM cables (PS/2 or USB) to interface with any mix of USB and PS/2 servers in a space-saving 19" rack-mount applications.
Controlling multiple Sun, USB and PS/2 servers, Sylphit-IP Sun features a 19" or 17" laptop-style tilting flat-panel display that requires little pullout to tilt open and as a result hardly protrudes into the aisle space in front of the rack.
Sylphit-IP also features the ability to connect a 2nd (external) console (VGA monitor and USB keyboard/mouse). Port expansion is supported via a dedicated cascading port that facilitates the connection of up to seven (7) more levels of KVM switches, to control up to 128 servers.
Sylphit-IP models feature a built-in, fully integrated 8- or 16-port multi-platform (USB and PS/2) KVM switch, and are available with 19-inch or 17-inch displays.
