Servers get connected to the switch by means of ROCs and RICCs ("Dongles") – one "Dongle" for each server.
Remote Interface Connection Cable (RICC) and RICC on Cable (ROC) modules are "dongles" that connect to the server’s keyboard, mouse, and video connectors. An RJ45 jack on the other side of the "dongle" provides for running a CAT-5 cable (at variable lengths) from the "dongle" to the KVM switch.
Supporting connection to Sun, USB and PS/2 computers, these innovative "Dongles" reduce cable clutter by using standard UTP Category 5 cables.
