Security sensors can be fixed on windows, room doors, or rack and cabinets doors to alert about a security breach through any sensorProbe monitoring appliance.
Security sensors provide an alarm or normal indication in software. Once the door/window gets opened, the security sensor’s state changes from Normal to Alarm, and a SNMP trap gets sent. When an alarm condition is activated, the description and location of the fault can be sent via email, page.
Up to two security sensors can be plugged into RJ 45 jacks on the sensorProbe2 monitoring appliance, whereas up to 8 security sensors can be connected to sensorProbe8 models.
Security sensors can be purchased with 15, 60, or 100 feet of cable, allowing the sensors to be positioned in sensitive spots. Once plugged into the RJ 45 jack, sensorProbe monitoring appliance auto detects the presence of the security sensor, and automatically configures the appliance accordingly.
Security sensors have a SNMP interface for alarm/normal status. SNMP polling via get, as well as Web browser interface are available.
