Plyant CL Enclosures
Special Attention to Cable Management

Plyant CL Rear Bottom Cable Entry Features Cable-Management ProvisionsGreat care and design considerations went into Plyant CL, addressing versatile and secure cable access, as well as neatly organized cable-management within the enclosure:

  • Plyant CL Vertical and Horizontal Cable-Management Lacing BarsA large opening at the bottom that can be fitted with an optional brush-grommet bottom, allowing easy access for cables while keeping filth and foreign objects out the cabinet.  Filtered bottom or solid bottom are also available.
  • Rear bottom cable entry (on taller models) has provisions for optional RackiTie cable straps or wire ties to neatly organize cables and provides cable strain relief at the point of cable entrance.  An optional rear squeeze panel provides a degree of protection while still allowing cable access.
  • Two large cable egress horseshoe knock-outs at the back portion of any of the available tops.
  • Vertical mounting-rails double as cable management with round cable pass through holes and tie-down slots – both vertical & horizontal – for bundling cables with optional RackiTies.
  • In a simple yet effective way to handle vertical & horizontal cable runs inside the rack, Plyant CLx optional cable management lacing bars get installed independently of the mounting rails, thus eliminating any restrictions on positioning for flexible cable management. Optional RackiTies provide good means of securing bundles of cables to the lacing bars.
  • Extra-wide Plyant CLC models can be fitted with heavy-duty, high-density cable rings which ship in kits of 5, making up a virtual vertical cable trough along the mounting rail without using any rack-mount holes. With inner dimensions of 3" wide by 5" deep, Plyant CxC Cable Rings also support optional RackiTies for tightly bundling large cable runs.Plyant CxC Cable Ring
  • Spoolit cable-management posts facilitate the winding of CATx cables, resulting in a tight and well-organized wire installation in the rack. Spoolit posts mount onto Plyant mounting rails without occupying any rack-mount holes.

Solid and functional structure offers incredible strength and quality of design

The frame of Plyant CL series of racks is a fully welded 14 gauge steel structure, reinforced with horizontal crossbars running the entire depth on each side, providing high structural integrity, which enables the rack to hold up to 1,500 lbs of equipment.

Plyant CL Anti-Tip LegsSpecial care went into designing a reinforced bottom helping overcome the perils of shipping while providing extra functionality.

Plyant CL Depth-Extension-ModuleAnti-tip legs mount to the outside bottom of the frame and can be extended to prevent the cabinet from tipping over when the cabinet is on either glides or casters.  When not in use, Plyant CL anti-tip legs can be retracted to safely clear the aisle.

A unique design allows for using leveling feet and casters in conjunction.  Use the casters to easily move the rack around. Once in place - adjust the height of the leveling feet to level the cabinet and steadily position it in place.

Up to 8-inches of additional equipment depth can be gained with Plyant CL Depth-Extension-Modules.  Mounted to either the back or the front of the cabinet, Plyant CL Depth-Extension-Modules provide top and bottom cable access, integrated bracket for installing a zero-U PDU, and utilize any of Plyant CL doors.

For creating unified rows of cabinets, Plyant CL employs a simple-to-use, no-tools-required ganging kit, that joins Plyant CL frames together through the corner posts (even without removing installed side-panels).

Plyant CL Optional Door-HandlesIn addition to the (standard) locking "Lift-and-Swing" handle all Plyant CL doors come with, a variety of optional handles are available instead:

  • Dirak E-Line electronic handle
  • 4-Digit combination handle
  • 3-Digit combination handle
  • Pad-lock handle with key
  • Pad-lock handle

Plyant CLx racks accommodate all IT equipment, and servers of any brand

Plyant CL Mounting-Rails Double as Cable Management Plyant CL Mounting Rails with U-Index™ Measuring Marks
A unique frame and rail design supports rack-mounting equipment of multiple vendors and of multiple depth. Plyant CL racks ship with 12-gauge, powder coated vertical rack-mounting rails featuring square holes that are compatible with all 19" EIA 310-D IT equipment. U-Index™ measuring marks on the vertical rack-mounting rails provide for easy positioning of rack-mounted equipment.

The position of the vertical rack-mounting rails is infinitely adjustable front-to-back, allowing rack-mounting any vendor's equipment, and preventing equipment's front handles from interfering with the front door.

Plyant CL multi-depth design provides for multiple rail sets to be installed in one cabinet, supporting equipment with multiple depth within the same rack.

Structural provisions and a slew of options to support superb thermal management

Plyant CL Bevel-Mesh Door with Optional Fan AssembliesAs equipment densities increase so does the need for efficient thermal management.  Proper air distribution is vital to the IT enterprise.  Thermal management issues in the rack usually result from poor delivery, exhaust or return and not from cooling output.

Removing the Thermal Barrier

Plyant CL offers multiple options that help removing the thermal barrier between the enclosed cabinet and the well-cooled computer room.  These options include:

  • Mesh doors
  • Bevel-Mesh door with up to six (6) integrated fan assemblies promoting horizontal ventilation
  • Perforated top
  • Large opening at the bottom
  • Louvered side panels

Maintaining Static Pressure

Plyant CL with Optional Brush-Grommet (and Cover) BottomAir leakage is one of the main culprits that robs air supply to the cabinet. Air leakage occurs in a number of different points in a typical rack installation:

  • Under-cabinet cutouts for power and data cabling
  • Gaps in populating the rack's height
  • Uninterrupted air passage between cabinets ganged together in a row

Creating barriers between individual enclosures eliminates recycling of hot air within the enclosure structure, thus imperative for effective heat dissipation.  Plyant CLx offers multiple options that help maintaining static pressure within the enclosure structure, while maintaining good cable access and effective cooling capacity:

  • Plexiglas door
  • Solid door
  • Bevel-Mesh door with up to six (6) integrated fan assemblies promoting horizontal ventilation
  • Vented tops with three (3) air-exhaust capacity
  • Ventit fan trays and ECS enclosure blower accessories
  • Brush-grommet bottom sealing off the cabinet's bottom while still allowing cable access
  • Rear-access-opening sliding cover that seals off the opening even if it is used for cable access
  • Solid side panels that can serve as a barrier between networked racks that are ganged together
